What the project does

Last Train, First Light draws on 1980s synth-pop with a female lead; Side A Summer uses 1990s guitar-pop textures and a male lead; Let the Phone Ring explores early-2000s R&B with a female lead. Each three-minute song begins with original English lyrics and an era-specific musical brief. These are new era-inspired productions, not recordings from those decades.

The sound laboratory lets visitors compare saved musical directions against a shared scene. Its visual field responds to the audio being played through real browser audio analysis. This is playback and visualisation, not live AI music generation.

Additional project work includes game background-music candidates and procedural soundscapes. Rights and permitted use are reviewed for each intended release; portfolio playback does not grant a third-party reuse licence.

Selected capabilities

  • Original English lyrics and recurring chorus hooks
  • Three decades of musical inspiration; local AI-generated vocals and production
  • Three-minute songs, readable lyrics and an audio-reactive player

Last Train, First Light

1980s inspired · Synth-pop · female vocal

Read the lyrics
[Intro]

[Verse 1]
Your coat is hanging off my shoulder
The station clock says half past two
You draw a circle on the window
And put my name beside you
The man downstairs is stacking chairs
The last bus turns the corner
You smile like we have all the time
And ask me for one more dance

[Pre-Chorus]
I had a ticket in my hand
You had a better plan

[Chorus]
Miss the last train, catch the first light
Take the long way through the night
Keep your hand right here in mine
We can get home in our own time
Miss the last train, catch the first light
Stay until the sky turns white

[Verse 2]
We buy two coffees from a window
You take the lid off mine to cool
The streets we know look so much different
When nobody tells us what to do
You fold the ticket like a paper bird
And leave it on the table
I used to count the miles from here
Now I just count on you

[Pre-Chorus]
The morning papers hit the ground
We let the world come round

[Chorus]
Miss the last train, catch the first light
Take the long way through the night
Keep your hand right here in mine
We can get home in our own time
Miss the last train, catch the first light
Stay until the sky turns white

[Instrumental Break]

[Bridge]
Every road was somewhere else
Every door was closing
Then you turned and said my name
And I knew where I was going

[Final Chorus]
Miss the last train, catch the first light
Take the long way through the night
Keep your hand right here in mine
We can get home in our own time
Miss the last train, catch the first light
Stay until the sky turns white

[Outro]
In our own time
In the first light

Side A Summer

1990s inspired · Guitar pop · male vocal

Read the lyrics
[Intro]

[Verse 1]
We wrote our names on borrowed cases
Recorded songs from late-night shows
Your stereo ate half the chorus
We sang the words we didn't know
The car had one unbroken speaker
The map was folded inside out
You held the aerial through the window
I turned it up to drown you out

[Pre-Chorus]
We had nowhere we had to be
You put the tape back in for me

[Chorus]
Don't turn it over yet
There's a little summer left
Let the same old chorus play
Till the daylight fades away
Don't turn it over yet
We're not ready for the end

[Verse 2]
The corner shop became a car park
Your brother finally sold that car
I found our tape inside a shoebox
Beneath a stack of birthday cards
I called you just to say I found it
You laughed before I said the name
Three hundred miles between our kitchens
We sang the chorus all the same

[Pre-Chorus]
The years can take the road we knew
They can't take every song from you

[Chorus]
Don't turn it over yet
There's a little summer left
Let the same old chorus play
Till the daylight fades away
Don't turn it over yet
We're not ready for the end

[Bridge]
We don't have to be seventeen
To mean the things we used to mean
I'll drive halfway, you bring the tape
We've still got time to get away

[Final Chorus]
Don't turn it over yet
There's a little summer left
Let the same old chorus play
Till the daylight fades away
Don't turn it over yet
We're not ready for the end

[Outro]
A little summer left
Don't turn it over yet

Let the Phone Ring

2000s inspired · R&B pop · female vocal

Read the lyrics
[Intro]
Let it ring

[Verse 1]
You put your keys down by the doorway
I take the takeout from your hands
Your screen lights up across the table
Somebody needs another plan
The rain has soaked your favorite jacket
I hang it on the kitchen chair
You start to tell me why you're sorry
I say I'm glad you're here

[Pre-Chorus]
You don't owe the night an answer
You don't have to go
Let the room get a little quieter
Let the whole thing slow

[Chorus]
Let the phone ring, let the world wait
Nothing needs us till the day breaks
Take your time, there's no last call
We don't have to do a thing at all
Let the phone ring, let the world wait
I've got nowhere else to be tonight

[Verse 2]
The food goes cold, we barely notice
You tell me how your day went wrong
I trace a circle on your shoulder
You ask me what to put on
That old slow song you always skip
Sounds different in this weather
We move the table back a little
And take one step together

[Pre-Chorus]
You don't owe the night an answer
We can take it slow

[Chorus]
Let the phone ring, let the world wait
Nothing needs us till the day breaks
Take your time, there's no last call
We don't have to do a thing at all
Let the phone ring, let the world wait
I've got nowhere else to be tonight

[Bridge]
All day you've been holding on
Keeping everything in line
You can set it down a while
Put your tired hand in mine

[Final Chorus]
Let the phone ring, let the world wait
Nothing needs us till the day breaks
Take your time, there's no last call
We don't have to do a thing at all
Let the phone ring, let the world wait
I've got nowhere else to be tonight

[Outro]
Nowhere else to be
Let it ring
